Carrie Lam visits the restricted area in North Point

(ECNS) -- Blocks A to D of Tung Fat Building in North Point were designated as restricted areas on Thursday.

Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Carrie Lam paid a visit to the site at around 11:40 PM.

Residents of four old tenement buildings in the district were confined to their homes until all of them had a mandatory COVID-19 testing and their results confirmed.

About 475 residents have been tested and no confirmed cases have been found as of 2 AM.

The HKSAR government announced Friday that it had completed the mandatory test at around 7 AM.
