AI virtual anchor capable of speaking over 30 languages

(ECNS) -- An AI virtual anchor can utilize intelligent comprehensive simulations to synchronize the extracted voice, expressions and other features of a human anchor.

The AI anchor independently developed by Iflytek, is not only vivid but also proficient in multi-language broadcasting.

"The AI anchor can speak over 30 languages. About half an hour of human characteristics data was all it took to model it, " said Gao Jingwen, the R%26D team leader.

AI anchor training is extremely difficult because many core technologies like deep learning, machine translation and multilingual speech synthesis are involved.

"We need to make the virtual anchor resemble a human in terms of voice, emotion, body movements and other aspects. Therefore, multiple dimensions need to be considered like the analysis of text and emotion using AI technology," Gao said.

Currently, the AI virtual anchor, AI virtual customer service staff and AI virtual teacher developed by the team have been utilized in the fields like media and finance.

"We hope our developers and partners can help make our lives more convenient in the future through AI and virtual human technologies," Gao added.
