(ECNS) -- Miao embroidery is a traditional Chinese handicraft of the Miao, a minority ethnic group in China.

It was added to the national intangible cultural heritage list in 2006.

Miao ethnic women depend solely on their imagination to create the bold, exquisite embroidery.

To keep pace with modern apparel, inheritors of Miao embroidery in Pengshui County have mixed innovative elements of the traditional craft to cheongsams and landscape paintings, among others.

Popularized products bearing these unique embroidery elements are now exported to countries like Russia and Canada.
