(ECNS)-- Tech does not only change life, but also brings art to life.

The 11.9-meter-long scroll "A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains 3.0" by a Song Dynasty (960-1279) painter has gone totally digital at a Beijing exhibit.

Real-time rendering of layered tech offers an interactive and immersive experience, allowing viewers to shake branches and make leaves dance by waving the hands.

Viewers are also free to select mountains, trees, buildings and other elements from the digital painting and collage them together.

Since its creation in the 12th century, the painting has been held up as a masterpiece of traditional Chinese art.
