(ECNS) -- Epidemic control staff wear futuristic-looking smart helmets on a shopping street in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, on Monday.

The eight-hour-battery device can quickly measure body temperatures amid crowds.

Infrared cameras can determine temperatures from up to five meters away.

It can screen out those with high temperatures from among a hundred people in less than two minutes.

The smart device is able to scan QR codes and apply facial recognition.
