First 25 companies start trading on sci-tech innovation board

(ECNS) -- China's sci-tech innovation board (STAR market) started trading on the Shanghai Stock Exchange on Monday, with the first batch of 25 companies debuting on the board.
Shares of the listed companies surged quickly in early trade.
Listed companies on the board mainly focus on high-tech and strategic emerging industries, including information, biomedicine and high-end equipment, with intensive research and development input.
