International base jumping tournament kicks off in Guizhou

2018 China Anshun Balinghe Bridge International Base Jumping Tournament

Thirty world class base jumpers from 13 countries take part to show off their skills mid-air.

They tumble, dance in seconds before deploying their parachutes just 100 meters from the ground.

The Balinghe Bridge in Guizhou's Anshun City is near the most famous Huangguoshu Waterfall.

It is one of the highest bridges in the world, with precipices on both ends, ideal for such an extreme sport.

1,088-meter steel truss suspension bridge

2,237 meters in total length

370 meters in clearance from the water surface

The bridge has hosted the tournament for six consecutive years.
