Chinese skaters bagged runner-up finishes in the men's 1,000 meter final and men's 5,000 meter relay at the ISU (International Skating Union) Short Track World Tour at Sport Boulevard Dordrecht in Dordrecht, Netherlands, on Sunday.

After the men's 1,000 meter final opened with three relatively routine laps, Italy's Pietro Sighel took the lead from the fourth, followed by China's Liu Shaoang and the Republic of Korea's Rim Jong-un. Liu surpassed Sighel on the seventh lap, but Rim overtook the Chinese skater on the final lap to win gold in 1:25.877.

The 27-year-old Liu earned silver in 1:26.023 while Sighel rounded out the podium with bronze.

Later in the day, Liu Shaoang joined his brother Liu Shaolin, as well as Zhang Bohao and Lin Xiaojun, in the men's 5,000 meter relay against Italy, Hungary and event hosts the Netherlands. Lin took to the ice last and picked up the pace on the final two laps, propelling China past Italy to finish second in 6:48.724.

The Dutch quartet claimed the title in 6:48.679 and the Italians completed the podium in third place.

Following the final day of competition, China's short track speed skating team clinched full quotas for all nine events at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics. Meanwhile Canada's Steven Dubois and Kim Boutin, who topped the men's and women's individual standings during the World Cup season, claimed the respective Crystal Globe trophies.
