China's total current price of GDP hit $16.52 trillion in 2021: NBS

(ECNS) -- China's National Bureau of Statistics has carried out the final verification of the GDP data in 2021 according to the annual report of the National Bureau of Statistics, the financial accounts of the Ministry of Finance and the annual financial data of relevant Departments, the bureau said on Tuesday.

According to the final verification, in 2021, the total current price of GDP is 114.92 trillion yuan (around $16.52 trillion), which is 556.7 billion yuan more than that of the preliminary accounting figure; in terms of constant prices, it is 8.4 percent higher than that of the previous year and 0.3 percentage point lower than that of the preliminary accounting.

According to the requirement of timeliness of GDP accounting, China's annual GDP should be accounted twice, the first is the preliminary accounting of GDP, and the second is the final verification of GDP. Generally speaking, compared with the preliminary accounting, the final verification results will change.

The final verification indicates that, in 2021, the value-added growth rate of China's Primary Industry was 7.1 percent, which is the same as the preliminary accounting data. The value -added growth rate of the secondary industry and tertiary industry is 8.7 percent and 8.5 percent, respective, an increase of 0.5 percentage points and 0.3 percentage points from the preliminary accounting figure.
