(ECNS) -- A blue health code was rolled out in South China's Hunan Province on Friday, along with the existing green, red and yellow code.

According to Hunan Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, travelers or people who have recently returned to Hunan will be given a blue code for their first five days in the province.

This is a scientific and precise epidemic control measure, the local CDC said.

Any person who presents a blue code will be denied entry to public places, including shopping malls, restaurants, supermarkets and markets, hair and beauty salons, massage parlors, indoor gyms, KTV bars, Internet cafes, bars, etc., it was said.

Workplaces, hospitals, schools, and public transport are excluded from the list of banned venues.

The blue code will turn green provided with a negative nucleic acid result for the first three consecutive days and the fifth day since arrival, or possibly turn yellow.

If being mistakenly given a blue code, the person can appeal to the district disease control center for rectification with a travel code, it was added.
