9 killed in railway accident in China's Gansu

Nine people were killed in a railway accident in northwest China's Gansu Province Friday, local authorities said.

The accident happened around 5:25 a.m. on Friday when a train crashed into workers in the Jinchang section on the Lanzhou-Xinjiang Railway, according to the China Railway Lanzhou Bureau Group Co., Ltd.

Rescue work is underway.
