The following are extracts from French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe's latest announcement on the country's coronavirus pandemic situation.

-- France will not lift lockdown on May 11 if COVID-19 indicators are not as good as expected;

-- Wearing masks compulsory in public transport from May 11;

-- Wearing masks will be compulsory in secondary schools;

-- All shops except cafes and restaurants will reopen from May 11;

-- Gatherings of over 10 people banned after May 11, no events with over 5,000 people allowed till September.
