The China-Canada Trade and Investment Cooperation Forum was held in Toronto, Canada, on December 1, gathering over 150 representatives from the political and business circles of both countries.

Ren Hongbin, chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), attended and addressed the forum. He noted that this year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 20th anniversary of the strategic partnership between China and Canada. He stressed efforts to deepen communication and collaboration between the business communities of the two countries, focusing on supporting enterprises from both sides to expand trade and investment, enhance cooperation in traditional sectors, explore emerging fields, and jointly develop third-party markets.

Bijan Ahmadi, executive director and chief operating officer of the Canada-China Business Council (CCBC), said there are ample opportunities for Chinese and Canadian enterprises to cooperate, exchange, and build partnerships across various sectors.

The Canadian business community unanimously expressed optimism about China's positive signals of proactive opening up. They believe that amid the profound transformation of the global supply chain pattern, deepening economic and trade cooperation with China is timely. Canada looks forward to taking the CISCE as a link, giving play to its advantages in financial services, resources and energy, advanced manufacturing, agri-food, and other sectors, and further strengthening cooperation with Chinese enterprises.
