The United States and China have common interests in growth, peace, nuclear non-proliferation, anti-terrorism and environment, Jamie Dimon, head of JP Morgan Chase & Co., said here on Wednesday.

Speaking at a panel discussion at Bloomberg Global Business Forum 2019, Dimon, chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of the banking group, said trade issues between the two countries have to be dealt with and the method could have been different.

"It (trade war) could be worked out ... we should try to be friendly, understand their problems, and they should take trade more serious than they have," Dimon said.

Bloomberg Global Business Forum is an annual event gathering government heads and CEOs from companies, and the theme for the event in 2019 is "Restoring global stability."
