China is pleased to see Greece use the expo as a platform to promote its quality products to Chinese consumers, President Xi Jinping said during a meeting with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Xi said China is holding the expo as a major measure to firmly support trade liberalization and economic globalization as well as opening its market to the rest of the world.
The expo will help to promote economic and trade exchanges and cooperation among all counties and boost international trade and global economic growth, he said.
Noting that China and Greece enjoy a traditionally friendly relationship, Xi said China stands ready to work with Greece in maintaining momentum of high-level exchanges, deepening friendship, promoting mutual trust and pushing forward practical cooperation.
The president also underlined that the Piraeus Port project should play a leading and exemplary role in bilateral cooperation and called for more achievements to be made in jointly building the Belt and Road and other areas including energy, transportation and telecommunication.
China welcomes Greece's participation in the China-Central and Eastern European Countries cooperation framework and expects Greece to play an active role, Xi added.
The Greek people are keenly looking forward to Xi's visit to Greece at an early date, Mitsotakis said, adding that his country will continue to open up to China and welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest.

While meeting with Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness, President Xi Jinping said the two nations should take the opportunity of jointly building the Belt and Road to speed up high-quality cooperation.
Xi welcomed Holness to attend the expo held in Shanghai. Beijing supports Chinese companies to invest in Jamaica, Xi said, adding that the Chinese market welcomes more high-quality Jamaican products.
Noting that both China and Jamaica are developing countries that are at critical periods in their development, Xi said there is great potential for bilateral cooperation.
Xi said that the two countries should maintain high-level exchanges, enhance communication on the experience of governance, strengthen joint development strategies and boost people-to-people exchanges.
China would like to make joint efforts with Jamaica to develop relations with Caribbean nations, Xi said, adding that the two sides should jointly enhance multilateral cooperation, maintain the multilateral trading system and safeguard the interests of developing countries.
During the meeting, the two leaders agreed to promote their relationship to a strategic partnership.
Holness said it is a great honor to attend the expo during the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
China has made remarkable achievements in the past decades, he said, adding that hundreds of millions of Chinese people have been lifted out of poverty.
China's progress has promoted global governance and brought benefits for people across the world, including Jamaicans, he said.
Saying the expo proposed by Xi is a visionary initiative, he added that the openness of the Chinese market will greatly promote sustainable development around the world.
The Jamaican prime minister expressed a willingness to learn more about China's experience, jointly build the Belt and Road and enhance cooperation in such areas as infrastructure, logistics, tourism, culture and sports.
Jamaica firmly supports multilateralism, he said, and it would like to make positive contributions to promoting relations between Caribbean countries and China.

China stands ready to push forward its comprehensive strategic partnership with Serbia to a new stage and build a closer community of interests, President Xi Jinping said when meeting with Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic.
Xi asked Brnabic to extend his sincere greetings and good wishes to Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, saying that sending a delegation led by Brnabic to attend the expo fully shows that Serbia values its cooperation with China.
China is willing to continuously deepen mutual trust and its traditional friendship with Serbia and jointly build the Belt and Road, he said.
Xi underlined the importance of the two countries working on major cooperative projects in such areas as production capacity and infrastructure construction.
He urged the two sides to make joint efforts in landmark projects such as the Smederevo steel mill and the Hungary-Serbia railway and continue to carry out cooperation in areas including 5G telecommunication networks.
China and Serbia should enhance cooperation in several areas and jointly uphold the basic rules governing international relations as well as multilateralism, Xi said.
Brnabic, for her part, said the bilateral relationship is at its best period in history and big projects such as the Smederevo steel mill have greatly boosted Serbia's economic development.
The Serbian people have increasingly felt the benefits brought by Serbia-China cooperation, she said.
China sent out a strong signal of promoting economic globalization and trade liberalization by holding the expo, and Serbia will continue to actively participate in the event, she added.
