Xi agrees in principle to pay state visit to Japan next spring

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday agreed in principle to accept the invitation from Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to pay a state visit to Japan in spring next year.

The two leaders held a meeting ahead of a summit of the Group of 20 (G20) major economies slated for Friday and Saturday in the Japanese city of Osaka.
