China's power generation up 4.9% in September

China's power generation stood at 675.1 billion kilowatt-hours (KWh) in September, up 4.9 percent year-on-year, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed Monday.

The growth rate was 4.7 percentage points faster than the previous month.

The September power generation was 10.5 percent higher than the same period in 2019.

In the first nine months, China's power generation stood at 6.0721 trillion KWh, up 10.7 percent year-on-year and 11.6 percent higher than the same period in 2019.

In terms of categories, the growth rate of thermal power and wind power generation accelerated in September, while nuclear and solar power generation slowed down in September.
