China's first fully AI-generated animated film hits the big screen

China's first animated film produced entirely through artificial intelligence-generated content (AIGC), "The Reunion Journey," was given a test screening in Beijing on Saturday.

Starring panda siblings Tuan Zai and Yuan Niu, the film centers on the themes of reunion and cultural bonds.

Through the use of AI technology, the film's production cycle was compressed from the usual three to five years into the space of just one year.
