Chinese archeologists have uncovered three paleolithic ruin sites in the Sichuan, Shandong, and Henan provinces, respectively, the National Cultural Heritage Administration (NCHA) announced Monday.

The ruin in southwestern Sichuan was found on a plateau, and over 6,000 pieces of stoneware were unearthed within, including several axes in good condition. They indicate mature tool-making techniques, the NCHA said at a conference briefing about the discoveries.

Human remains were found in the cave site in central Henan, with fragments of human skull fossils and dozens of human teeth unearthed.

The excavation work is still underway, according to the NCHA.
