Chinese food delivery platform Ele.me officially renamed as Taobao Shangou

(ECNS) -- Taobao Shangou announced on Friday that Ele.me app will undergo a comprehensive upgrade to become Taobao Shangou (flash delivery) immediately upon updating to its latest version.

Meanwhile, scenarios related to Ele.me will also be refreshed to Taobao Shangou, it said. "Updating is for the better, and the better inspires us to renew constantly."

Ele.me became part of Alibaba Group in 2018 through a $9.5 billion acquisition led by Alibaba and Ant Group. In June 2025, it was fully integrated into Alibaba's e-commerce operations.

In May this year, Taobao Shangou officially became a first-tier entry point on the homepage of the Taobao app. By integrating the resources and capabilities of both Taobao and Ele.me, Taobao Shangou achieved a daily order peak of 120 million over the past six months, with a weekly average of 80 million in August. The total number of monthly transacting users has also surpassed 300 million.
