China's homegrown C919 makes first flight to plateau airport

(ECNS) — China's domestically-produced C919 passenger jet began regular commercial service on the Shanghai–Lanzhou route on Monday, marking its first flight to a plateau airport, according to China Eastern Airlines.

At 11:08 a.m., Flight MU9179 landed at Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport in Gansu Province, which sits at an elevation of 1,948.7 meters.

According to the airline, the outbound flight departs from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport at 8:00 a.m. and arrives in Lanzhou at 11:15 a.m. The return flight MU9180 departs Lanzhou at 12:15 p.m. and lands in Shanghai Hongqiao at 2:50 p.m. The flight operates one round trip per day.
