Two die from high-altitude fall in central China's Hubei

(ECNS) -- Two people were found dead in Huangshi City, central China's Hubei Province on Saturday, with no evidence indicating a criminal incident, local police said on Tuesday.

At around 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, the Huangshigang District Branch of the Huangshi Public Security Bureau in Hubei Province received a report from a local resident, stating that two individuals were found lying on the ground near a residential building on Doulishan Road, according to a statement released by Huangshigang branch on its official WeChat account.

Police and emergency medical personnel rushed to the scene, where medical staff pronounced the two deceased.

After on-the-spot investigations, witness interviews and surveillance footage reviews, authorities confirmed the deceased as a 27-year-old man surnamed Wang and a 21-year-old woman surnamed Wu, who were in a relationship. The preliminary investigation determined that the deaths resulted from a high-altitude fall and there was no evidence to show that it was a criminal case.

Local authorities are currently handling follow-up procedures.
