(ECNS) -- The first batch of aid supplies from the Chinese government arrived at Yangon International Airport in Myanmar on Monday after a 7.9-magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar on Friday.

The supplies included 1,200 tents, 8,000 blankets, and over 40,000 first-aid kits, delivered by chartered flights.

China will also provide urgently needed supplies such as drinking water and instant food to the disaster-hit areas in the coming days.
