Former Huawei 'Top Minds' member hints major upcoming AI products
(ECNS) -- Peng Zhihui, co-founder of AgiBot, hinted an important upcoming announcement in a post on Weibo published last Friday, quickly capturing widespeard attention on social media.
In his previous post, Peng introduced AgiBot Digital World, a large-scale robotics simulation framework integrating high-fidelity simulation, fully automated generation, and extensive open-source data.
His Weibo videos have so far accumulated more than 10.5 million views.
AgiBot began mass-producting general-purpose robots on Dec. 16, 2024, delivering its 1,000th unit on Jan. 6, 2025.
The company has successfully completed multiple funding rounds, attracting prominent investors including Hillhouse Investment, CDH Investments, BYD (holing a 2.51 percent stake), and iSoftStone (with a 1.41 percent stake).
Peng was selected Huawei’s “Top Minds” Program in 2020 and left the company at the end of 2022. He co-founded AgiBot in February 2023 and unveiled its first AI robot, the "Expedition A1" in Augtst 2023. In January 2024, AgiBot established a joint laboratory with Peking University to tackle siginifcant challenges in AI technology.
