China to cancel nucleic acid testing and health code checking during Spring Festival travel rush

(ECNS) -- China will no longer check nucleic acid testing result, health code, and body temperature, or conduct nucleic acid testing for arrivals during the 2023 Spring Festival travel rush, said a document released by the Ministry of Transport on Tuesday.

According to the document, passenger transport service should not suspended or restricted randomly, and vehicles and ships must be ensured.

Various illegal checking points to stop vehicles and the act of intercepting vehicles on roads are forbidden, said the document.

In addition, it asks to speed up the recovery of previously-suspended passenger transport service.

The 2023 Spring Festival travel rush lasts for 40 days from Jan. 7 to Feb. 15.
