Covid positive toddler avoids hospital quarantine thanks to warmhearted neighbors

(ECNS) -- A 2-year-old kid who tested positive for Covid-19 has been allowed to be quarantined at home, with the aid and promise of a warmhearted neighborhood in Chaoyang District, Beijing. 

The 2-year-old suffers from asthma, and was required to move to a mobile cabin hospital with his parents after testing positive for Covid-19, according to prevention measures.

A video circulating on the internet shows that the kid, along with his father, having put on white protective suits, was leaving their apartment building when they were asked to stay by neighbors.

The father was worried about spreading the Covid-19 virus to his neighbors.

The neighbors rushed to where the kid was leaving and showed their concerns about living conditions in a cabin hospital after learning about the father's decision.

Many neighbors told the father on the spot, “Please stay. We can help you!”

At the end of the video, the father returned home with his kid.

Run-up information shows the neighbors in the same apartment unit signed on a letter of commitment to allow the little Covid-19 patient to stay.

Those involved where praised as "Good Chinese Neighbors" by netizens. 

“This event shows people have gradually changed their attitude toward Covid-19,” said Wu Shuangjian, a news commentator.
