Majority of schools, production projects resume in Tibet’s Nyingchi

(ECNS) -- A total of 6,100 students from 95 schools in Nyingchi, Tibet Autonomous Region, have returned to school, according to a press conference on Sunday.

Altogether 251 projects in the city have resumed as of Saturday, a resumption rate of 77.9 percent, and 13 of 15 industrial enterprises above the designated size have resumed production and operation, said Fu Yongbo, executive deputy mayor of Nyingchi.

Buses and taxies in downtown Nyingchi as well as inter-county buses have reopened, said Fu.

Tibet reported 22 asymptomatic COVID-19 cases on Sunday, among whom 19 were in Lhasa, two in Shigatse and one in Qamdo. As of Saturday, 2,343 patients had been discharged from hospitals and 56,556 close contacts were released from collective quarantine for medical observation.
