(ECNS) -- 2021 China-Canada Innovation Forum was held in Beijing on Tuesday.

Twelve high-tech Canadian companies, covering nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, and bioscience, took part in the Chinese Angels Mentor Program (CAMP) of the forum this year.

Innovative achievements by Canadian companies in gesture recognition, nano biological materials and new energy were displayed at the forum.

In the past six years, CAMP has provided more than C$20 million ($15.7 million) to 40-odd start-ups and created more than 200 jobs in Ontario, Canada.

“I hope by holding such Mentorship Programs, Canadian entrepreneurs could better understand the entrepreneurial environment in China while Chinese entrepreneurs could gain inspiration from innovative ideas in North America,” said Chen Rui, an official of the China Association for Science and Technology.

In the future, more communication and cooperation will be promoted between China and Canada to build an international ecosystem of innovative entrepreneurship.

The Chinese Angels Mentor Program (CAMP), first launched in 2015, is committed to building a cross-border ecosystem for innovative, early-stage Canadian companies.
