(ECNS)--Spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry Wang Wenbin on Tuesday stressed there had been no new domestic COVID-19 cases in the country for 30 consecutive days as of Monday, and that China protects the safety and legitimate rights and interests of foreign nationals in the country while responding to the U.S. easing its China travel advisory.

The remarks of FM spokesperson Wang Wenbin ran as follows.

Bloomberg: The U.S. has updated its travel advisory for Hong Kong and other parts of China. The level-3 advisory is now in effect. At the same time, it warned the U.S. citizens against risks of COVID-19 and arbitrary enforcement of local laws in China. Do you have a comment on this?

Wang Wenbin: Since COVID-19 broke out, China has taken the most comprehensive, rigorous and thorough prevention and control measures and secured major strategic outcomes in the domestic fight against the virus. As of September 14, China’s mainland reports no newly confirmed local cases for 30 days.

China protects the safety and legitimate rights and interests of foreign nationals in our country. China is one of the safest countries in the world. Of course, foreign citizens in China are obliged to abide by our law. The US should fully respect facts and refrain from political manipulations when issuing the travel advisories.
