(ECNS) - AsiaWorld-Expo, a world-class venue in Hong Kong, has unveiled a digital and immersive version of “Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival”, a renowned Chinese painting that dates back to the Northern Song dynasty of the 11th century.

The exhibition that integrates art, culture and technology includes an animated scroll, dome theatre and Song Dynasty Park. It offers a digital translation of the original scroll, a visual depiction of the historical background and a three-dimensional presentation of details in the painting, immersing visitors in an experiential landscape of ancient Bianjing, present-day Kaifeng in Henan Province.

Song Dynasty Park is an interactive zone for kids and adults to learn Song culture through fun and hands-on experiences including fan drawing, New Year painting, lantern riddles and other traditional culture practices that bring the Song era to the present.

The exhibition co-organized by the Palace Museum and Phoenix TV runs from July 26 to August 25.

Wang Xudong, curator of the Palace Museum, said the exhibition connects Kaifeng of the past with the modern metropolis of Hong Kong because both show thriving traditional Chinese culture.

Tung Chee-hwa, former chief executive of Hong Kong, Xie Feng, commissioner of China's Foreign Ministry in the HKSAR, and Lu Xinning, deputy director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong, were among guests participating in the exhibition’s opening ceremony.
