China's highest-altitude 750 kV substation transmits over 11.6 billion kWh of clean electricity in three years
(ECNS) -- China’s highest-altitude 750-kV substation has transmitted more than 11.6 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity since entering operation, marking three years in service on Tuesday.
Located 3,365 meters above sea level in Tongde County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China’s Qinghai Province, CHN Energy’s Yunshan Substation collects and transmits hydropower and other clean electricity from the Ma'erdang Hydropower Station and surrounding areas.
It supports the Qinghai Henan ultra high voltage direct current transmission project.
Operating in harsh high-altitude conditions, the facility relies on regular inspections, targeted maintenance and intelligent monitoring systems to ensure safe and stable grid operation.
