China's CPI up 0.8% in August, PPI up 3.8%

(ECNS) -- China's consumer price index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, rose 0.8% year on year in August, official data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed Wednesday.
The producer price index (PPI), which measures costs for goods at the factory gate, went up 3.8% year on year in August.
