(ECNS)-- Beijing launched its first branded cargo train service Friday, as a “JD Express” freight train departed Fengtai District bound for the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area.

Operated by China Railway Beijing Group, the train runs five times a week on a fixed schedule, carrying household appliances, electronics and cosmetics.

The service delivers in just over 24 hours, offering a standardized multimodal transport link between northern supply hubs and southern consumer markets.

Jin Shi, Manager of the Railway Capacity Department at JD Logistics, noted that this rail-based logistics model provides higher capacity and more predictable schedules compared to traditional road transport.

Moving forward, authorities plan to continue optimizing these specialized freight products to further support regional logistics efficiency.
