(ECNS)— China opposes all forms of unilateral tariff measures, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said Friday, responding to the Trump administration’s decision to impose new tariffs on dozens of trading partners, including China.

The tariffs, which took effect July 24, set a 12.5% rate on goods from China. Lin said tariff wars “serve no one’s interests” and reiterated China’s consistent position on China-U.S. economic and trade issues.
