(ECNS) -- A batch of 5,428 kilogram fresh apricots produced in Yuncheng, north China's Shanxi Province have been exported to Russia, the first overseas export of this fruit in the province, according to Shanxi customs.

This brings the exported fruit variety in Shanxi to 14.

Located at 35 degrees north latitude and known as "North China's Orchard," Yuncheng enjoys natural conditions with a mild climate, moderate rainfall, and fertile soil for fruit cultivation.

Apples and Chinese dates were first exported from Yuncheng to the United States in 2016 and 2020, while nectarine, a kind of peach, to Australia in 2016 and watermelons in 2021.

Local government has established a green channel for fast customs clearance for fresh fruits and guided growers in scientific pest control, processing, and packaging to meet the requirements of laws and regulations of the importing counties.
