China hails equivalence of catfish product systems with U.S.

China hails U.S. confirmation on the equivalence of catfish product supervision systems, China's General Administration of Customs (GAC) noted Wednesday.  

The U.S. Federal Register on Tuesday published final rules on China's catfish exports to the U.S., which confirms the equivalence of the two countries' catfish product supervision systems. 

The Federal Register is the official journal of the federal government of the United States that contains government agency rules, proposed rules and public notices.  

On October 26, Chinese Vice Premier Liu He held a phone conversation with U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin. 

During the phone talks, both sides agreed on the U.S. importing Chinese-made cooked poultry meat, the equivalence of catfish product supervision systems, China's lifting of the ban on U.S. poultry exports, as well as on applying the Public Health Information System (PHIS) for meat products.
