(ECNS) -- Following reports of a Sumsung Galaxy S10 security flaw, Chinese leading digital payment apps WeChat Pay and AliPay said on Wednesday they have disabled their fingerprint-recognition payment function.

The flaw, first reported by a British user, means any fingerprint can unlock a Galaxy S10 phone.

Alipay added that it also closed the same function related to the Galaxy Note 10.

Users of affected Samsung gadgets can choose other ways to verify money transactions.

While Samsung has promised a software patch to fix the problem, many banks across the world disabled the fingerprint login option for owners of such Samsung gadgets.

Bank of China, one of the country’s four biggest state-owned commercial banks, said other smartphone and tab brands are not affected by the move.

Bank of China has told customers to switch off the fingerprint-recognition option on three Samsung products -- the Galaxy S10, Note10 and Tab S6 -- to log in to its services.

South Korea's online-only KaKao Bank also urged customers not to use the fingerprint-recognition option for authentication until the issue was fixed.
