Online game industry for young employees: report

(ECNS) - The average monthly salary of middle and high-level talent in the online game industry reached 17,594 yuan ($2,500) in the first half of 2019, according to a report by job site Liepin. 

The report said the online game industry is developing at a fast pace and competition among enterprises to woo top talent is getting fierce. 

Professionals in game development, planners, designers in animation and 3D, and maintenance engineers earned 16,811 yuan, 16,159 yuan, 15,439 yuan, 15,167 yuan and 15,092 yuan a month respectively. 

Top talent in the industry is mainly concentrated in the ages of 20-35, nearly 87 percent of the total, with over 44 percent in the 25-30 age bracket. The industry is most short of multimedia game development engineers, game planners and key animators. 

Data showed the burgeoning online game industry has broad career prospects and competitive pay that will attract more young professionals.
