平民消防员

Beijing has unveiled its first batch of 682 civilian firefighters, recruited from the ranks of former soldiers and local youth.
北京宣布首批682名平民消防员正式入列,这些消防员是从退伍老兵和当地青年中招聘来的.
这是北京首批社会招聘的消防员,他们都来自平民（civilians）,主要是退伍老兵（former soldiers）和北京本地青年（local youth）.其中38岁以下的退伍消防老兵占20%,30岁以下的北京本地青年占80%.
在中国,负责消防（fire and rescue services）的一直都是武装警察（soldiers of the Armed Police Force）,但是,由于现役消防员（firefighters in active service）人数太少,从今年四月开始,北京市政府开始公开向社会招聘合同制专职消防员（firefighters under contracts）.此次招聘的专职消防员均为灭火救援岗位.
今年7月,入选的消防员经过了长达一个月的体能强化训练（enhanced physical training）,训练项目包括俯卧撑、仰卧起坐和跑步（pushups, situps and running）等.
期间还开展了消防基本技能培训,包括佩戴空气呼吸器（wearing breathing apparatus）、水带连接（connecting fire hoses）、结绳救人（using personal rescue ropes）、高温条件下行走（walk into high-temperature rooms）,浓烟环境下搜救被困人员模拟训练（find and rescue people in dense smoke in a simulated environment）等.
这些政府专职消防员将实行聘用制管理,初次聘用合同期限为三年,合同期内由北京消防局统一分配至全市基层公安消防中队工作,与公安现役消防官兵混编执勤,一同执行灭火救援任务.政府专职消防员实行工作4天休息2天的工休制度（work four days on duty and two days off）,工作时24小时驻勤（on call 24 hours a day when at work）,初入职税前年薪10万元.
