Shenzhen has started fining drivers who continue driving on a congested crossroad despite having a green light, a policy that is contentious. The fine ranges from 300 yuan ($45) for first-time offenders to 500 yuan for third-time offenders within one year. (Photo/IC)

running the green light

Traffic police in Shenzhen will fine drivers driving into heavily congested crossroads, even if the green light is on. The new traffic measures starts on Sunday, the Nanfang Daily reported.

(500 RMB if they commited more than three offences in a single year).
