2016年贺岁普通纪念币,是央行在今年发行的一款纪念币,面额（denomination） 10元.因为今年是农历猴年,也被称为"猴币"（Commemorative Year of the Monkey coin）.尽管今年的"猴币"比往年贺岁纪念币发行量略大,但也阻挡不了百姓"抢鲜"的热情.不少市民一大早就在银行门外排队,兑换（to exchange）"猴币".
Commemorative coins就是我们平时所说的"纪念币",比如抗战胜利70周年,央行就发行过一套"纪念币"（a set of commemorative coins）；为了纪念小王子的生日,英国皇家铸币局还曾发行面值5英镑的限量版纯银硬币（a limited edition sterling silver £5 coin）.为迎接猴年新春,中国邮政近日还发行了"丙申年"特种邮票（the "Bingshen Year" special stamps）.
