公租房（public rental houses）,即公共租赁房,是指由国家提供政策支持,各种社会主体通过新建或者其他方式筹集房源、专门面向中低收入群体出租的保障性住房（indemnificatory apartment）,它有别于廉租住房（low-rent housing）、经济适用房（affordable housing）,尚无一个内涵统一的明确界定.
住建部部长陈政高表示,2016年将不再建设公租房,要实现公租房货币化,通过市场筹集房源（acquire houses through the market）,政府给予租金补贴（offer allowances to tenants）.要把去库存（reduce housing inventories）作为房地产工作的重点,大力发展住房租赁市�.╮ental housing market）,推动住房租赁规模化、专业化发展.
他指出,要进一步用足用好住房公积金（housing fund）,继续推进棚改货币化安置,努力提高安置比例,2016年新安排600万套棚户区（shanty towns）改造任务.
