A private company in Guangzhou imposes "filial piety tax" on employees. The company automatically deducts 10% of single employees' salaries and 5% of married employees' salaries every month and wires the money directly to their parents.
近日,广州一家民企向员工征收"孝顺税".公司自动扣除已婚员工5%、单身员工10%的工资,直接将其打给他们的父母.
该公司表示,希望通过这一做法提高员工的道德价值(good moral values).该公司负责人表示："公司许多年轻人来自于农村,所受教育有限(poorly educated),因此公司希望能鼓励他们尽孝道(inspire filial respect among them for their parents).我们招聘新员工时,员工须认同这个规定,否认将不予招录(will not be hired).一入职,员工就要提供父母的银行账户(bank account)."
据悉,公司还定期举办定期讲座(holds regular classes),教育员工要尽孝道(filial piety).
不过,该做法引发网友热议(triggered discussion),有人认为该公司做法过头了(the comapny has gone too far).
"Filial piety is filial piety, and salary is salary...Salaries are for the employees not for their parents. They should just mind their own business," said a user of the Weibo microblog site.
一位网友发微博表示："孝顺是孝顺,工资是工资……工资是给员工的,不是给父母的,公司只要管好自己的事就行了."
另一些人则认为,公司这样做还违反了员工的权利(violating employee rights).
当然,也有对这一做法表示赞同(praised the move)的网友.一位网友表示,现在的年轻人就知道挣钱自己花(earn money for themselves and spend it on themselves),很少关爱家人.
Other Internet users thought the company's intention is good but its methods are too heavy handed. And filial piety should come naturally from the heart.
还有网友认为,该公司的初衷是好的,但是方法可能有待商榷,孝顺应该发自内心才对.
如今,我国正迅速进入老龄化社会(aging society),养老问题是一项十分艰巨的任务.2013年,我国通过一项鼓励孝道的法律,要求在外地的儿女必须经常回家探望年迈的父母(frequently visit their elderly parents).
