The 2015 China Forest Tour Festival will be held in Wuhan, Hubei province in October, the State Forestry Administration said on August 26.
8月26日,国家林业局表示,"2015中国森林旅游节"将于10月在湖北武汉举行.
The festival is set to boost the growth of forest tourism, a rising force in China's tourism industry, as well as to improve the public awareness of forest protection and low-carbon lifestyle, said Peng Youdong, a senior official of SFA at a press conference in Beijing.
国家林业局官员彭有冬在北京发布会上表示,本次旅游节是为了促进中国旅游业的崛起力量——森林旅游的发展,也是为了提高公众保护森林的意识,倡导低碳生活.
森林旅游（forest tourism）,也可以用forest recreation表示,是以森林景观为依托发展而来的旅游.美国可谓是森林旅游的鼻祖,1872年,美国建立世界上第一个森林旅游场所——黄石国家公园.建设森林公园（forest parks）、开展森林旅游已成为一种很有活力和潜力的新兴旅游业.
此次旅游节包含一系列活动,比如森林旅游发展成果展（an exhibition on forest tourism development）,中国生态休闲产业论坛（a forum of the ecological leisure industry）以及其他投资洽谈会（investment fairs）等.
到目前为止,全国各类、各级森林旅游地数量已超过8500处,其中各级森林公园3101处、各级林业系统自然保护区（nature reserves）2189处、各级湿地公园（wetland parks）979处.2014年底,全国森林旅游游客量已达9.1亿人次,创造社会综合产值达6500亿元.
森林旅游与三农（three rural issues：agriculture,rural areas and farmers）发展的关系十分密切,森林旅游使当地农民经营模式从砍伐森林转变为保护森林（shift the business model from deforestation to protecting forests）,农民不离乡、不离土就能找到合适的工作和收入来源.
