危化品（dangerous/hazardous chemicals）是指具有易燃（flammable）、易爆（explosive）、有毒（toxic）、有害（poisonous）和放射性（radioactive）等物质,在运输装卸和储存保管过程中易造成人员伤亡和财产损毁而需要特别保护的物品.
危化品在外界作用下(如受热heat、摩擦friction、撞击impact等)能发生剧烈的化学反应（chemical reaction）,瞬间产生大量的气体和热量,使周围的压力急剧上升,发生爆炸,对周围环境、设备、人员造成破坏和伤害的物品.
