Phubber, the combination of words "phone" and "snubber," refers to people who are snubbing real social contact by frequently checking their phones and posting words and pictures on the Internet.
"低头族" 这一新词由电话(phone)和冷落別人者(snubber) 两词组合而成, 意思是指在社交场合只顾着玩手机而冷落, 怠慢了身边人的人群.
The word "phubbing" was included in the Australian National Dictionary in 2012. A Stop Phubbing campaign website has been set up. You can find the slogan of the website as follows "stop twittering, stop posting photos…enjoy your food, enjoy the music and respect others."
该词在2012年被编入了澳大利亚国家字典.一家抵制低头症的网站也因此成立.其网站口号就是:"停止推特,停止上传照片...享受你的美食,享受当下的音乐,还有尊重你的聚会."
