The rare celestial event of full lunar eclipse was visible around China during evening of Wednesday, October 8, 2014. A total lunar eclipse is sometimes called a "blood moon" because of the red color that is cast upon it by light refracting in earth's atmosphere.

8日晚,国内各地出现名为"血月"的月全食现象：即月球进入地球的影子,没有太阳光直射,而大气层将紫、蓝、绿、黄色的光都吸收掉了,只剩下红色光可以穿透,折射到月球表面,所形成的暗红色的月亮.

Local experts said this eclipse was featured by a special stage of "Lunar-eclipse moonrise."

天文学专家介绍称, 本次月全食还有一个特点,即带食月出.在太阳落山之后,月亮升起,这个时候已经发生月全食了,赏月者会看到在东方的天空有一轮带食而出的月亮.
