NASA launches spacecraft in first ever mission to deflect asteroid(1/2)

The Falcon 9 carrier rocket was launched to conduct a double asteroid reorientation test (DART) by knocking an asteroid to change its trajectory. The mission marks the first attempt that the human beings make to prevent the Earth from being hit by other celestial bodies.
