The 2.62-meter-high bronze statue, with a high crown, wears three layers of robes, the outermost of which is elaborately decorated with shallow designs interpreted as dragon motifs. It is the earliest and largest bronze statue in China, as well as the largest of its size in the world currently known. It could also be interpreted as a god, a priest-king, or a human, symbolizing authority.

The bronze head with a braid is flat. The gold mask on its face, still in bright golden color, is very eye-catching. Some scholars believe that those who wear gold masks had a noble status and played important roles in sacrificial activities.

The bronze mask has big ears, bulging eyes and a big mouth with a grin that stretches to the base of its ears. The 68-centimeter-high ornament protruded upward from its forehead and the blade-like wings make it look majestic.

It is a ring-shaped piece of foil, made of nearly pure gold. The pattern consists of four birds, flying in the same counterclockwise direction, located around the perimeter. The gold foil artifact resembles a modern papercut.
