Guided missile frigate Sanya officially joined the service of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy during a delivery ceremony held Friday, according to military sources.
Independently developed and made by China, the Sanya is capable of attacking enemy ships and submarines, and is especially adept for use in long-distance vigilance and aerial defense combat.
